Break-In Leaves Hercules House Ransacked, Flooded

The incident occurred over the holidays on Bellflower Court.

Police in Hercules are investigating a residential burglary that occurred last week after a resident returned home to find it ransacked and the bathroom faucets overflowing.

Officers responded Dec. 23 at 7:55 p.m. to a residence in the 100 block of Bellflower Court on a report of a residential burglary. The victim said she and the homeowner left the residence around 9:30 a.m. and returned home around 7:45 p.m. to find the front door unsecured, the house ransacked and the faucets from the bathroom tub and sink on and overflowing.

The water flooded the entire upstairs of the residence and was seeping through the ceiling downstairs and causing flooding and damage throughout the house, police said.
