Man Donates 23 Bicycles to ‘Bike Angel’ for Lake County Fire Victims
The former Livermore resident says bike donations have also been dropped off at Del Valle High.
LIVERMORE, CA — A former Livermore resident trying to help those devastated by the recent wildfire in Lake County got some unexpected help from a benevolent Petaluma man.
Last year, Alcott rallied the Bay Area community, founding a community group dubbed the “Bike Angels” and was able to garner hundreds of bicycle donations for the children and adults in Lake County. When she heard of the unforgiving Clayton fire, she put out the call for bicycle donations.
Alcott says Ken Sturdevant of Petaluma donated 23 bicycles.

“The bikes were a joint project between Schwinn and Orange County Choppers,” Alcott said. “It was a very generous donation from his collection.”
She has already collected 40 bikes. The most recent donations will be brought from Petaluma to Lake County for distribution.
