‘Bike Angel’ In Need of Bike, Helmet Donations for Clayton Fire Victims

The former Livermore resident is once again rallying to help those devastated by the North Bay fire.

The unforgiving Clayton fire has ripped through Lake County area, leaving in its wake a path of destruction. Many residents have lost everything. The blaze, believed to be arson, has burned 4,000 acres and destroyed hundreds of structures in an area still recovering from the devastating a 2015 fire. The Valley fire, which killed four people, injured four firefighters and destroyed 1280 homes, left thousands of adults and children homeless and with nothing more than the clothes on their backs in 2015.

A former East Bay resident is trying to help ease the pain of loss those in Lake County. The longtime Livermore resident may have moved out of the Tri-Valley area, but Candy Alcott sprang into action from her new home in Florida as soon as she heard Lake County was once again burning.

Last year, Alcott rallied the Bay Area community, founding a community group dubbed the “Bike Angels” and was able to garner hundreds of bicycle donations for the children and adults in Lake County and she intends to do it again.
