SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A sailboat caught fire and sank in the Bodega Bay harbor Wednesday night, a fire chief said this morning.
The 20- to 30-foot boat had been anchored in the harbor for a long time, but its local owner was not at the scene when the fire started around 7:45 p.m., Bodega Bay Fire Protection District Chief Sean Grinnell said.
The boat was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and fought the blaze from a fireboat, Grinnell said.
