Car Fire On I-680 Extinguished

When emergency crews arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames and blocking two lanes.

SAN RAMON, CA — A car fire on northbound Interstate 680 south of Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon has been extinguished this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The blaze was reported at 5 a.m. and the occupants of the car were able to escape.

The CHP and San Ramon Valley Fire Departement crews responded to assist. When emergency crews arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames and blocking two lanes. The fire has since been extinguished. No other information is available.

The California Highway Patrol has issued a Sig-alert for westbound Interstate 580 west of Grant Line Road in Alameda County near Livermore this morning due to a disabled big rig in the road. The CHP said the truck ran out of gas and stalled in the number three lane on the busy freeway.
