A body was recovered in the same area where a boater went missing more than two weeks ago, according to reports.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A body was found in Candlewood Lake on Thursday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
FOX 61 reports the body was found in the same area of Candlewood Lake where a 24-year-old man went missing more than two weeks ago.
The Brookfield Police Department responded to the area near Candlewood Inn and Brookfield Bay around 7:30 on May 29 Sunday evening, following a report of a boater who had jumped in the water and had not resurfaced.

Crews have searched for the person since then.
Brookfield police wrote in an update on Facebook on Thursday that the body of the missing boater has been found.

The person’s identity hasn’t been released, and the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, according to the Hartford Courant.
