It was about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 22 when a heavy set white male “with a big belly” walked into the TD Bank at 235 Greenwich Ave. and “presented the teller with a note demanding cash,’ according to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

“The teller complied with his instructions and the subject left” the bank located at the corner Greenwich Avenue and East Elm Street, Gray said. Gray would not say whether a weapon was involved. No one was injured, he said.

The suspect is described as clean shaven, in his 50s, heavy set, about five-foot-six inches tall. He also was described as being “very pale” and having a “pointy nose, blue eyes, big belly,” according to police.

The man was wearing a black skull cap, a black zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and black low-top laced sneakers.

This is the second Greenwich bank robbery so far in 2015. On Jan. 30, a woman walked into the Greenwich Bank & Trust Co. at 1103 E. Putnam Ave. in the Riverside neighborhood, pulled a large handgun and demanded cash. She escaped with an unspecified amount of cash.
