Greenwich Resident Honored for Providing Nonprofit Services to the Region
Joe Kaliko received commendations from fellow Greenwich resident, Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch.

The head of the Greenwich-based nonprofit group Needs Clearing House was honored Saturday in Bridgeport for his work helping people in the Park City and lower Fairfield County.
Fellow Greenwich resident, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch presented commendations to Joe Kaliko, co-founder of the Needs Clearing House. “I’m very honored to present to you this certificate of recognition from the Senate of the United States,” Blumenthal said.
The ceremony at Bridgeport City Hall included many of the people Kaliko has helped during the past year, since founding his organization.

Blumenthal said Kaliko’s tireless work on behalf of individuals, families and charities has made Bridgeport a better place. “Today gives us the opportunity to say thank you to Joe for the great work he’s been doing,” Blumenthal said.
Kaliko described how he felt in receiving the commendations. “The feeling was absolutely wonderful to have the recognition of what the organization has accomplished over the last year,” Kaliko said.
