Hundreds Attend Golf Tournament, Dinner Benefit for Ex-Cos Cobber Marc Gangi
The former Greenwich HS athlete is recuperating from injuries suffered in a fall this summer at his home.

More than 175 people attended Friday’s benefit for Cos Cob native and 1980 Greenwich High School graduate Marc Gangi and his family.
There were 125 golfers and at least another 50 who attended the dinner that followed the benefit golf tournament held Oct. 10 at the Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe, according to family friend Fred Camillo of Old Greenwich, who also helped organize the benefit.
“People came from all over the country to honor and support their friend, Marc. While he still has some work ahead of him on his road to full recovery, Marc has made great strides and was overwhelmed with the love and affection his friends gave to him on Friday,” Camillo said.

The tournament raised funds to help defray medical expenses after Gangi was critically injured in a fall at his Shelton home in early August. Gangi, who was a football and baseball player at Greenwich High, spent part of his recuperation at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford.
