Millions of New 'Growing and Sustainable' Jobs Created: Here's How To Get Them

As the emphasis on renewable and sustainable energy continues, the demand for skilled workers in “green” industries continues to expand as well.

The U.S. Department of Labor defines green jobs as those that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources.

Aspects of everything from technical research, construction, retail and sales, sanitation, recycling and digital design fit under the green umbrella, giving job-seekers a wide range of opportunities to apply their skills.

A study by the labor department found that green goods and services accounted for over 25 million jobs in 2010. Nearly 1 million new jobs were created in 2013 alone, reaching 26 million overall positions at the end of that year.
