Tanker Filled With 5,000 Gallons of Corn Syrup Topples In Alsip

It appears that a tanker truck has flipped on its side Tuesday morning at 127th St. and Cicero Ave.in Alsip. Avoid the area if you can.

ALSIP, IL -- A tanker truck filled with 5,000 gallons of corn syrup toppled onto its side Tuesday morning near 127th Street and Cicero Avenue in Alsip. The tanker appears to be righted per a picture posted on the Alsip Fire Department Facebook Page. Alsip police said injuries were reported, but to what extent is unknown.

Alsip Police Chief Jay Miller said that the Chicago area's 45-mph wind gusts do not appear to be a factor in Tuesday's accident. The tanker was eventually uprighted.
