Illinois Ranked Among Best States for Teachers
Not many states have a higher teacher-friendliness index than Illinois.

Financial website WalletHub’s study of the “Best and Worst States For Teachers” found educators in only two other states have it better than those in Illinois.
The study took into account 16 key indicators of “teacher-friendliness,” including “median starting salary,” “pupil-teacher ratio” and “school safety” to create a methodology that included two key data sections, “job opportunity and completion” and “academic and work environment.”
Scores were based on 100, with Illinois rated at 61.48. Only New Jersey (63.26) and Massachusetts (61.76) were ranked higher than the Land of Lincoln.
