More Violent Crime Reported in Geneva: FBI Report
The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Geneva.
According to the report, Geneva saw only 7 violent crimes in 2014. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI. That is a slight increase in violent crimes for Geneva.
Of those violent crimes, there was one murder, two rapes and four aggravated assaults. That is a slight increase since 2013 when Geneva saw five violent crimes: one rape, one robbery and three aggravated assaults.

The murder in 2014 was Geneva’s first in 40 years. Shadwick King was sentenced to 30 years in prison for murdering his wife, Kathleen, and dumping her body on the train tracks near their Geneva home, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Other crime stats for Geneva include 177 property crimes, 20 burglaries and 156 reports of larceny/theft.

Nationally, violent crime decreased nationally last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
