HP Man Nabbed in Hair Salon Burglary Spree

The 26-year-old allegedly admitted his involvement after being stopped in Northbrook Thursday.

NORTHBROOK, IL - A suspect in the recent string of hair salon burglaries in Chicago and the suburbs was arrested by police in Northbrook on Thursday.

Alan Konwinski, 26, of Highland Park was stopped in the 3000 block of Macarthur Blvd. around 4:35 p.m. and arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license. According to police, he later made admissions to his involvement in some of the burglaries. At that time, he was charged with five counts of burglary.

Northbrook police credit a tip received by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office on the identity of Konwinski, who was wearing the same hooded sweatshirt at the time of his arrest as he was during a recording of one of the burglaries in Highland Park.
