Mundelein Teen Dead After Lollapalooza Medical Emergency: Police
Evan Kitzmiller, 16, died after officials say he was found unresponsive at the Chicago music festival.

MUNDELEIN, IL — A Mundelein teen has died after Chicago police said he was found unresponsive Sunday night at Lollapalooza. The Chicago Tribune reported 16-year-old Evan Kitzmiller, of the 21000 block of West Bittersweet Drive, was found in the 300 block of East Randolph Street just before 8 p.m., and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:59 p.m., according to police.
An autopsy is scheduled at the Cook County Examiner's office to determine Kitzmiller's cause of death, and detectives have launched a death investigation. According to the news report, the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications labeled the incident as a “medical emergency."
Kitzmiller was reportedly heading into his junior year at Mundelein High School.

It was a busy weekend for authorities as 119 concert-goers were taken to area hospitals, many due to heat-related illness during the first three days of Lollapalooza in Chicago's Grant Park. Another seven people were arrested during the festivities, according to the Sun-Times.
