Nearly 120 Hospitalized, 7 Arrested During Lollapalooza: Reports

Hot weather was a factor in sickening concert-goers.

CHICAGO, IL — Sunday is the last day of Lollapalooza in Chicago's Grant Park, and over the first three days of the fest, 119 concert-goers were taken to area hospitals, many due to heat-related illness. Another seven people were arrested during the festivities, according to the Sun-Times.

Melissa Stratton, a spokeswoman for the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications, said 46 people were taken to area hospitals on Thursday. Thirty-nine more were hospitalized Friday, followed by another 34 on Saturday.

Two people were arrested for battery Thursday, although one was ultimately not charged. Five more were taken into custody for unknown reasons Saturday, and no arrests were reported Friday, according to the Sun-Times.
