Here's a pick-me-up about a missing woman being reunited with her family.
A police officer in Taneytown recently spent eight hours responding to a call about a woman who appeared disoriented at Food Lion in Carroll County, after he realized she was more than 100 miles from home and had gotten lost. He was dispatched to the grocery store at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, for a woman who seemed confused and lost. It turned out, she was — the Delaware woman had left Cambridge and was headed home when somehow she ended up in Taneytown, which was two hours and 100 miles off track, police said. The officer contacted her relatives, who lived several hours away, and he waited with the woman until 6:30 a.m. the next morning so that she would be safe until her relatives arrived. The Taneytown Police Department shared the story, thanking Sheetz for allowing them to wait there, and for providing them with a free meal.
