Havre de Grace Trick or Treating Hours for Halloween 2016

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The time for ghosts, ghouls, goblins and more is drawing near.

Trick or treating in the city of Havre de Grace will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31.

"Please be safe, bring a flashlight, walk in groups, and have fun!" the Havre de Grace Police Department advises.

DRIVERS: There will be children all about throughout the evening in places where you might not expect them. Reduce your speed and be alert at all times.

PARENTS: Make sure children are accompanied by an adult, traveling in groups and sticking to familiar neighborhoods. Inspect candy at home before allowing children to eat it. As far as children's costumes, keep them short to avoid tripping and use reflective material or flashlights/glowsticks to ensure visibility. Ensure masks don’t limit eyesight. Put ID with address and phone number on a bracelet or tucked into costume somewhere.

HOMEOWNERS: Keep your porch lights and other exterior lights turned on. Clear walkways for trick-or-treaters. Keep candles, leaves, hoses, toys and lawn ornaments out of the path. Report suspicious activity to the police.
