Dog Walker Finds Suspicious Lobster Traps, Questions Connection to Swampscott Case

At 8:25 a.m., a caller reported a low hanging wire on Darling Street.
At 9:17 a.m., a woman reported that a red notebook and tape measure had been taken from her back porch steps. She said the notes were to-do lists and projects around the house and would mean nothing to anyone.

At 10:58 a.m., a woman reported that a person called claiming to be a police officer and seeking a donation of $300 and then $100. When she told him she was on a limited income, he replied “don’t lie.”
At 12:44 p.m., a caller reported receiving a phone call from a woman claiming to be her granddaughter who had been arrested in Niagara Falls. The grandson took the phone, understanding this to be a scam.

At 4:44 p.m., a man called police to report that his sister was walking her dogs on the beach when she came upon lobster traps with what appeared to be red carpet inside. She wondered if they could be related to the Swampscott case involving Jaimee Mendez. A Swampscott officer came to Marblehead and retrieved the traps.
