Human Remains Identified as Missing Swampscott Mom
Jaimee Mendez went missing on Nov. 6, 2014 and her disappearance sparked a large search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the human remains found on King’s Beach in Swampscott on Wednesday as belonging to Jaimee Mendez, 25, of Swampscott, according to the Essex Count District Attorney’s Office.
The DA’s office said the bones were found near two lobster pots on King’s Beach. They were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The office made the identification through dental records on Friday afternoon, said the DA’s office.
“We are relieved for Jaimee’s family that she has been located and identified. We will continue to work diligently to determine the circumstances of her death. Our thoughts are with the Mendez family during this difficult time,” said Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.

Mendez went missing on Nov. 6, 2014 and her disappearance sparked a large search that included the Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, Swampscott, Salem and Lynn Police, Massachusetts State Police Dive Team, K-9 Units and AirWing, and NEMLEC
The cause and manner of death have not been determined yet.

“The investigation into the facts and circumstances of Ms. Mendez’s death is ongoing. No further information related to the investigation will be released at this time,” said the DA’s office.
