Body Found in Wilmington Believed to be Babson Student

A body found on Glen Road in Wilmington is believed to be 18-year-old Ira Jaan Simbulan.

WELLESLEY, MA – A body found in Wilmington on Wednesday is believed to be that of an 18-year-old student at Babson College reported missing earlier this week.

The Middlesex District Attorney's office said the body was found around 10 a.m. after an extensive search. The death is not being considered suspicious, and authorities do not suspect foul play.

The Wilmington Town Crier first reported that Ira Jaan Simbulan was found dead behind a home on Glen Road in Wilmington. According to a missing persons flyer, she was last seen exiting an Uber on Glen Road at 5:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Simbulan, a North Andover resident, was enrolled at Babson College in Wellesley.

In a statement, Michael Chmura, director of public relations at Babson, said:

“We are incredibly saddened by the news of Ira Jaan Simbulan’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and all members of the Babson College community mourning the loss of this extraordinary young woman. We are making counseling services and other support resources available to students, faculty, and staff who are affected by this news. We continue to offer our support to Ira’s family and assistance to local law enforcement investigating this sudden death.”

Police began searching for Simbulan in the area of Glen Road Tuesday morning.
