Eagan Shooting: Masked Gunman, Guard Worked for Same Company
The masked gunman and the security guard involved in the fatal Eagan shooting were both employed by Mill City Protective Agency.

The suspect in the fatal Eagan shooting and the security guard who said he was attacked worked for the same company. Davon O'Keith Wiley, 25, was killed after police say he assaulted a security guard while armed with a gun and wearing a mask. Wiley and Young Matthew Vang, the guard who was assaulted, were both employed by Mill City Protective Agency.
KARE 11 reported that Wiley was not on duty at the time of the incident.
Wiley died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The agency ruled his death a homicide.

It recently was determined the shooting took place in an Eagan parking lot and the armed suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the assault. Police say at this point it appears the security officer was acting in self-defense. The suspect’s motive is still unknown to authorities.
On Dec. 5 at 12:08 a.m., Eagan police officers responded to the 900 block of Aldrin Drive for a security guard stating he had just shot somebody who had attempted to rob him. Officers responded and found an adult male dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release.

During the confrontation, the security officer shot and killed the suspect, according to police. The security officer sustained minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Eagan Police Department and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner are investigating the incident.
