Cinnaminson Resident John McCarthy Suffers First Loss With Philadelphia Union

The Union fell to defending Eastern Conference champion New England Revolution, 2-1, Sunday night.

In the end, playing three games in eight days may have been too much for the Philadelphia Union.

Cinnaminson resident John McCarthy suffered his first loss in three games when the Union fell to defending Eastern Conference champion New England Revolution, 2-1, Sunday night at PPL Park.

McCarthy is now 1-1-1 after taking over the role of starting goalie last week. In his first two outings, he led the Union to their first win of the season last Saturday night, followed by a draw in the team’s first appearance at Yankee Stadium on Thursday.
