Hoboken Guitarists Will Make 4th World Record Attempt With Dylan Jam

It's time to try to break a world record again, Hoboken.

HOBOKEN, NJ — It’s time to try to break a world record again, Hoboken.

On Thursday, July 28, Mile Square City guitarists from across Hoboken will make their fourth attempt to break the world record for “Largest Band” by gathering in Sinatra Park to perform a massive version of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”

During last year’s attempt, more than 400 people joined the fun, city officials said.

The Guinness Book of World Records currently lists 953 participants in Beijing, China, as the “largest rock band,” and 6,346 guitarists as the “largest guitar ensemble” in Poland, city officials stated in a news release.

Thursday’s record attempt – a partnership between the city and longstanding Hoboken music store The Guitar Bar – will take place at Sinatra Park (between 4th & 5th Street, Sinatra Drive) at 7 p.m. Sign in begins at 6 p.m. Participants should come early to be counted, officials said.
