Hoboken Guitarists To Make World Record Attempt On Thursday

Guitarists are invited to come to Sinatra Park and play Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door."

If you’re one of Hoboken’s many guitarists – even if you only know four chords – you have a chance to make history on Thursday.

On July 23, local music store The Guitar Bar will lead an attempt at a Guinness World Record for most guitarists simultaneously playing the same song.

To break the Guinness record – set at the annual Thanks Jimi Festival in Poland – Hoboken will have to summon more than 6,346 guitarists, according to NJ.com.

Organizers have attempted the feat twice before and fell short, but hope that this year’s attempt will be different.

The song? Bob Dylan’s iconic, four-chord masterpiece, “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”
