Hoboken McDonald's Beating: Police Arrest Two Suspects

Two men hand themselves over to cops following a multi-state search.

Two suspects wanted in connection with a beating at a Hoboken McDonald’s on Memorial Day have turned themselves in to police.

According to authorities, around 3:27 a.m., two males entered the McDonald’s and began punching and kicking the victim as he was lying on the floor, knocking him unconscious and causing serious head trauma.

The suspects then fled the restaurant east on Third Street from Washington Street. [See related Patch article]

Hoboken Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante told NJ.com that the victim recently underwent surgery for the third time, and that the attack left him with massive internal bleeding.

One of the suspects in the beating, Paul Maiolini, 26, of Carmel, N.Y., turned himself in to Jersey City police on Friday, and was taken to Hudson County Jail and held on $75,000 bail.

On Monday, a second man, Robert Brichta, 27, of Kent, N.Y. – accompanied by his parents - turned himself in to Hoboken police in connection with the crime, NJ.com reported.
