Motion To Recall Mahwah Mayor Deemed Valid

The petition to recall Mahwah Major Bill Laforet was certified by the township clerk on Thursday, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

Five residents filed a motion to recall the Laforet last month, citing several shortcomings in his performance as Mayor.

The next step for the motion is for at least 25 percent of the township’s voters in the last election, which would be 4,163 individuals, to sign and agree that a recall question should be placed on the ballot in November, the report states.
