More details were released on a man who died after he was found on a New Jersey beach on Saturday – the second time in three weeks that a fatality took place in the area.
State Police initially found the windsurfer in the area of Horseshoe Cove in Sandy Hook on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The man, who was not identified, was reportedly in distress around 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Gateway National Recreation Area, which includes Sandy Hook.

A rescue then took place the near Parking Lot L after police were dispatched to the area. Police were responding to a report that a body was found on the shore, authorities said.
The man was then transported to a nearby hospital where he died, according to Gateway National Recreation Area.

A man whose body washed up on the beaches of Sandy Hook three weeks ago has been identified as Daniel Carroll, 62, of West Orange, NJ State Police confirmed to Patch. His death is not being considered suspicious.
Carroll's car was found parked a short distance away, NJ State Police said.
His body washed ashore at Sandy Hook on Oct. 12, according to a park spokeswoman. The body of the adult male washed up on Beach D, Daphne Yun, a spokesperson for the Gateway National Recreation Area, told Patch. The body washed up on the oceanside of the park sometime around 1 p.m., according to Yun.
The Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner's Office has taken custody of the body.
