Newark Airport Saw 2K Flight Cancelations, Delays During Blizzard: Report
JFK Airport saw 2,140 affected flights, while LaGuardia had 1,714, a report said.

Newark, NJ –Newark Liberty International Airport saw almost 2,000 delays and cancellations during last weekend’s blizzard, according to a recent industry report.
Airline industry advocacy group Global Gateway Alliance stated that Newark Airport saw nearly 2,000 flight delays and cancellations related to the historic storm.

In addition, JFK Airport saw 2,140 affected flights, while LaGuardia had 1,714, according to the report.

A spokeswoman for Global Gateway Alliance said air traffic technology needs to be upgraded to help the airports recover more quickly from extreme weather, AM New York reported.
More amenities for riders trying to cope with severe weather delays, such as sleeping pods, fitness centers, and unlimited free Wi-Fi, would also be beneficial, the spokesperson told AM New York.
