Newark Liberty Airport At Full Ground Stop
All flights in and out of the airport have been halted due to the weather

News 12 New Jersey is reporting that Newark Liberty International Airport is at a full ground stop because of the blizzard.
The full ground stop was issued due to snow and low visibility, according the news organization’s Twitter account.
No flights will be allowed to land and airport officials do not believe it will be necessary to close down the airport entirely.

More than 2,600 flights have been canceled in the United States because of the blizzard, according to FlightAware.com.
For Tuesday, over 3,000 flights have already been canceled, FlightAware says.The cancelations come after Governor Chris Christie declared a state of emergency Monday as winter storm with tropic-storm-force winds began to fall in New Jersey.

NJ Transit will shut own its operations at 8 p.m., and probably will remain closed through Wednesday. Governor Christie has authorized a staggered dismissal at 1 p.m. Monday as well as the closing of state offices on Tuesday for all nonessential employees.
