2 Hospitalized After Massive Brentwood House Fire
A total of 21 people were displaced after the blaze on Thursday.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A total of 21 people were displaced after a massive Brentwood house fire on Thursday afternoon, according to the Brentwood Fire Department.
The fire was reported at a Wurz Street home at about 12:05 p.m. Responding firefighters were met with heavy fire at the 2-story high ranch home coming from both the first and second floor.
Soon after, the roof that had solar panels partially collapsed and the second floor also collapsed.

In addition, crews also had to deal with mutable propane cylinders that were damaged from the fire and created hazards for the firefighters.
The house next door was also damaged from the radiant heat.

A total of 100 firefighters responded to scene. The fire was under control by 3:25 p.m.
Members of the Central Islip, Islip, Islip Terrace, Deer Park, Commack and East Brentwood Fire Departments all responded.
Two residents were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for smoke inhalation and a minor burn.
The Red Cross is assisting the 21 displaced residents.
Suffolk Police stated that the fire did not appear criminal in nature, but the incident is currently being investigated by the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and the Islip Town Fire Marshal’s Office.
This was the second large fire reported in Brentwood this week. A Hilltop Drive home was damaged and 10 people were displaced in a fire on Monday.
