Snow moved into the Hudson Valley before midnight on Monday. Heavy snow began Monday morning, affecting the Tuesday morning rush hour. By the evening commute, there is strong potential for 16 to 24 inches of snow with whiteout conditions throughout the day.
Snowfall rates may reach 2 to 4 inches per hour at intermittent periods throughout the day, which will be exacerbated by gusty winds. Driving will be especially hazardous on Tuesday for both the morning and evening commutes. Minor coastal flooding is also expected during high tide. Residents in these regions should expect possible closures, delays and cancellations, and regularly monitor for updated information to plan ahead.

Power outages
To report downed wires, road blockages and non-life-threatening issues, contact (914) 238-4422. Treat all downed wires as if they are live. Be mindful that downed wires can be hidden from view by tree limbs, leaves or snow.If your electric service goes out, call Con Ed directly at 1-800-75-CONED.
Calling Con Ed directly enters your power loss into their computerized data base. You can also report outages, view outages map and check outage status at www.conEd.com.

Statewide
Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for all 62 New York counties to begin at midnight. Above-ground subway will be suspended at 4 a.m. and it’s likely NYC buses, LIRR and Metro-North will be suspended Tuesday.

With 12-24 inches of snow expected in the Hudson Valley, NYC and Long Island, and 8-16 inches upstate, the State Emergency Operations Center opened Monday evening. State agencies had already pre-positioned personnel, assets, and state stockpile resources – including sandbags, generators and pumps – to areas of the state where the storm will be at its strongest.

The attorney general of New York reminded people that during a snow emergency there is the possible that others will try to take advantage of the situation and raise prices.

BEE-LINE SERVICE:
Due to the winter storm, all Bee-Line Bus services was suspended, until further notice, as of 4:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 14.

Bedford
A snow emergency has been declared in effect from midnight Monday through midnight Tuesday. Depending upon conditions, the state of emergency may be extended. Vehicles are prohibited to be parked on Town streets throughout the state of emergency. This prohibition is to enable road crews to clear snow.
Town offices will be closed Tuesday.
Katonah Lewisboro schools are closed Tuesday.
Bedford Central School District is closed Tuesday.
Briarcliff Manor
- No Tuesday Garbage Pick-Up. Tuesday garbage will be picked up on Wednesday. No Wednesday Re-Cycling. Re-cycling will be picked-up on Thursday.
- No overnight parking at Scarborough Railroad Station: your car will be subject to late night towing at the owner’s expense. Village officials are dedicating a plow/driver to work the station from the early AM. Early computers should first park in the slots facing the northbound tracks. Depending on Valet service availability please self-park and do not box anyone in. Avoid the Valet Parking areas. The plan is to concentrate on keeping the valet area clear and then shift to digging out the self-park areas after commuters return home and overnight Tuesday until cleaned as best as possible for Wednesday AM.
- Briarcliff Manor Library and WJV Community Center will be closed Tuesday.
- Village Hall expects to be open with limited staff. Storm and municipal needs will determine at what point VH may close.
- Planning Board Hearing and Meeting is cancelled and re-set for April 4.
Buchanan
Buchanan Village Offices are closed.
Cortlandt
Cortlandt town officials declared a State of Emergency to begin at midnight. Residents are urged to stay off the roads during the storm.
Croton-Harmon schools are closed.
Lakeland schools are closed.
Mount Kisco
Mount Kisco Village Hall and the Memorial Complex at Leonard Park -- closed Tuesday.
New Castle
The Chappaqua Central School District is closed Tuesday. All after-school and evening activities, including Tuesday night’s Knowledge Café, are canceled as well.
New Castle police urge residents to be prepared.
Do not travel. If you must travel...have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded...stay with your vehicle.In the event of life or property threatening emergencies, dial 911. Plan on not driving for at least tomorrow and the possibility of being stuck in your home for days. This means having a supply of water, food, medication and whatever else you may need to outlast the storm. New York State provides a full list of emergency supplies for your home and vehicles.Please check on your neighbors who are frail, alone or may be in need of additional help. Make sure they are prepared and stay safe during the storm.

Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant Town Hall is closed Tuesday. All non-essential vehicles are asked to stay off the roads so Highway Department personnel can work. The Town Board meeting and hearing on traffic issues is rescheduled for next Tuesday.
North Salem
North Salem CSD is closed Tuesday.
Ossining
Ossining Village officials have declared a Snow Emergency, to go into effect at 9 a.m. Monday. See details from the OPD:

Peekskill
Peekskill schools are closed.
Peekskill Head Start and Aunt Bessie's Open Door day care are closed.
The city has declared a State of Emergency through Thursday morning.
Pleasantville
Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer has issued a Local Emergency Order banning parking on village streets, pursuant to New York State Executive Law, from 1 a.m. until further notice.
Changes have been made to the Village's sanitation schedule. Residents are asked to bring their trash cans curbside to facilitate collection. Sanitation personnel will not be able to pick up garbage cans in rear yards or driveways unless a clear, safe path is available.
- Tuesday's garbage collection will occur on Wednesday.
- Wednesday's garbage collection will occur on Thursday.
- No paper/cardboard collection this week. Comingled recyclables will be picked up on Friday.
Holy Innocents has cancelled religious education classes for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pleasantville schools are closed.
Somers
- Somers Central School District is closed Tuesday.
- Lincoln Hall is closed.
Yorktown
- Tuesday's Town Board meeting has been cancelled.
- Yorktown schools are closed Tuesday.
