Redmond City Council Formally Asks For Dick's Drive-In
The Council has adopted a resolution formally asking for Dick's Drive-In to put its new location in Redmond.

REDMOND, WA - The Redmond City Council must really enjoy Dick's Drive-In: the Council passed a resolution on Tuesday night formally asking for the beloved local burger chain to locate its new restaurant in Redmond.
Dick's recently announced that it would open its seventh location in the Puget Sound area, and is allowing fans to vote on the location. Possibilities include South Seattle - including Renton and the Highline area - and the East Side. So far, all the Dick's are in Seattle, except for the newest location in Edmonds.
The Redmond Dick's resolution also asks for local residents to get in on the voting, which ends on March 24.

"It would be an honor for the City of Redmond to serve as the home of the seventh Dick’s Drive-In, which would be a welcome addition to the thriving urban centers of our community,” Council President Hank Margeson said in a press release. “Help us encourage Dick’s Drive-In to locate their first Eastside location in Redmond by voting online by March 24."
The first Dick's opened along 45th Street in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood on Jan. 28, 1954. The Dick's menu features classics like fries, cheeseburgers, and hand-whipped milkshakes. The chain has expanded to include locations in the Seattle neighborhoods of Capitol Hill - the location referenced in the Sir Mix A Lot song "Posse On Broadway" - Queen Anne, Lake City, and Crown Hill.

But if East Side residents want Dick's Drive-In, they better get voting - according to Dick's, more people have so far voted for a South Seattle location. So, if you love Dick's Drive-In as much as the Redmond City Council, you can vote for a new restaurant near you here.
