Moore Campaign Attempts To Refute Allegations
Roy Moore's campaign provided several arguments in an attempt to poke holes in the claims of sexual misconduct made against him.

MONTGOMERY, AL - Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore's campaign fought back loudly in a press conference Tuesday in Montgomery against allegations of sexual misconduct brought forth by nine different women against Moore. The defense the Moore campaign put forth attempts to refute details of the stories told by two of Moore's accusers.
"If the liberal media were half as interested in investigating these accusations against Judge Moore as they are in scaring up 1980s-era false gossip at the Gadsden Mall, then we would be getting to the bottom of this and moving on," Ben DuPre, Moore's former chief of staff on the Alabama Supreme Court, said during the press conference.
First, Moore's camp shot back at the claims of Leigh Corfman, the woman who says Moore pursued her sexually and romantically when she was 14, by suggesting that Corfman had behavioral problems before she allegedly met Moore, which counters Corfman's claim that her issues stemmed from the encounter.

Also, regarding Corfman's claim that Moore called her and she spoke with him in her bedroom, Moore's team states that Corfman did not have a phone in her bedroom back then. However, Corfman's mother has already said the phone in the home had a cord long enough to reach into Leigh's room.
Another point questioned by Moore was the alleged meeting place where Moore allegedly picked up Corfman. Moore's campaign claims the spot is miles away from where Corfman's home was at the time, which the Moore camp says is evidence that Corfman never met Moore there.

The Moore campaign then attacked Beverly Young Nelson's claim that Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16. The supposed "holes" in Nelson's story are that she could not have been standing outside the restaurant at closing at 10 p.m. because the restaurant stayed open past 10. Also, the campaign statement claims the restaurant did not hire workers under the age of 16, so Nelson could not have worked there at age 15, as she said she did (although the night of the alleged assault occurred after Nelson was 16).
Gloria Allred, attorney for Nelson, issued the following statement:
"Initially there was a suggestion by a defender of Mr. Moore that the restaurant where Beverly Young Nelson worked was not in existence at the time that Beverly claimed that she worked there. After it was proven beyond doubt by public records that the restaurant did exist at the time that Beverly stated that she worked there that argument ceased to be made.
Then Judge Moore stated in a letter to Sean Hannity that 'Beverly Nelson was a party in a divorce action before me in Etowah County Circuit Court in 1999. No motion was made for me to recuse. In her accusations, Nelson did not mention that I was the judge assigned to her divorce case in 1999, a matter that apparently caused her no distress at a time that was 18 years closer to the alleged assault. Yet 18 years later while talking before the cameras about the supposed assault, she seemingly could not contain her emotions.'
Evidence has now been presented by Beverly's divorce attorney that Nelson never appeared before Judge Moore because there never was a hearing "before" the Judge. The matter was dismissed because the parties reconciled, and because it was dismissed she never appeared before him. Nelson's divorce attorney, Rodney Ward, signed an affidavit attesting to these facts and stating that he was unsure if Nelson even knew that her case had been assigned to Judge Moore.
Once her divorce attorney disclosed this information to the press we never heard that misleading statement from Judge Moore again.
Now, new statements are being made in a desperate attempt to continue to discredit Nelson and to divert the attention of voters from the fact that Moore still has refused to state if he will testify under oath before a Senate Committee as to Nelson's serious accusations against him. Mr. Moore, will you or will you not agree to testify under oath before the United States Senate as Beverly has volunteered to do or will you hide behind a dumpster and the garbage that your campaign is collecting and distributing on a daily basis?"
Moore has asked Allred for the yearbook Nelson says Moore signed so they can authenticate the inscription. And in today's press conference, Moore's spokespeople said Allred's delay in handing over the yearbook show that Nelson's story is false.
