Mistrial Stands In MA Mom Lindsay Clancy's Triple Murder Case

PLYMOUTH, MA — A last-ditch effort to avoid a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder case failed.

An emergency request for relief was denied and Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial due to a deadlocked jury

A lone holdout juror forced a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder case.

Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, called the ruling a "travesty."

Sullivan gave him an hour to file the appeal that was then denied.

Clancy, 36, is charged with the January 2023 murders of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan Clancy.

"Prosecutors have said that in January 2023, Clancy intentionally strangled the three children with fitness bands in their Massachusetts home before jumping out of a second-floor window," the BBC reported. "Clancy, now 36, was paralysed by the jump and has attended the trial in a wheelchair."

"Clancy has admitted that she killed her children in 2023. However, her attorney, Kevin Reddington, claims her mental state was so impaired by postpartum mental illness that she shouldn’t be held criminally responsible for their deaths," according to WBUR.
