1 Victim Dead After Southwest Birmingham Shooting
A shooting Sunday in southwest Birmingham resulted in one fatality.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting Sunday night in southwest Birmingham resulted in a fatality, police said. The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. at 1712 Maple Avenue.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers discovered a victim laying in the yard unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue and Jefferson County Coroner arrived and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
There are no suspects in custody and detectives have not established a motive in this investigation, Mauldin said.
