• Financial pressure causes long-running Georgia care program to close (wsbtv.com) — KidsPeace is closing its Bowdon residential treatment facility on December 31, ending 22 years of specialized care for at-risk youth and affecting about 100 local employees. Leaders cite rising costs and stagnant state reimbursement rates, and say they’re working on transition plans for current youth and staff. The closure will significantly impact Bowdon families who’ve relied on these services. 
• Wesley Wilson Scholarship created at WGTC (times-georgian.com) — A new Wesley Wilson Scholarship at West Georgia Technical College honors a 2025 Bowdon High School graduate who was known for quietly helping others, including guiding a lost student at Bowdon High. His parents have seeded the fund and are working toward a $25,000 endowment to support students in HVAC, criminal justice, and nursing. Local residents can donate online to grow the scholarship’s impact.
