• Lowen captures Under Armour national title (times-georgian.com) — A Bowdon High School distance runner, Averi Lowen, just captured a national title in the two‑mile at the Under Armour Track and Field Nationals in Florida, winning by more than 17 seconds. The rising senior from Bowdon is now preparing for New Balance Outdoor Nationals later this month, where she plans to chase a fast 5K time. 
• Georgia Supermarket Franchisee Cited by OSHA After Amputation (ohsonline.com) — A Bowdon Piggly Wiggly employee lost four fingers in a meat grinder accident, and federal safety investigators say the store’s franchisee bypassed key machine safeguards. OSHA cited RBG Foods Inc. for willful and serious violations, including lacking a proper lockout/tagout program and failing to report the amputation within 24 hours, and has proposed nearly $200,000 in penalties.
