1 Victim Dead After West Birmingham Shooting
A homicide is under investigation in west Birmingham after a shooting early Monday morning.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Police are investigating a homicide after a shooting in west Birmingham Monday morning left one victim dead. The Incident occurred just after 1 a.m. Monday at Valley Road and Court I.
Sgt Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers discovered the victim laying on the ground outside of his vehicle unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Mauldin said investigators indicated that the victim was having car trouble and exited his vehicle, and the suspect drove up in an unknown vehicle and a brief exchange of words occurred before the suspect opened fire shooting the victim.
