10 More COVID-19 Deaths Added To Alabama's Total

The Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed 10 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

MONTGOMERY, AL — The sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in Alabama has health officials concerned, especially now that 10 deaths from the virus were confirmed statewide in the last 24 hours.

"Just because you don’t have COVID-19 symptoms today, or if you’re asymptomatic, it does not mean you won’t spread the virus to other people," said Jefferson County Hwalth Director Dr. Mark Wilson. "If you’re young and healthy and you contract COVID-19 you may be very sick, but you will probably survive it, but think about the other people you are around who are more vulnerable."

Alabama has confirmed a total of 26,524 vases of COVID-19, with nearly 8,000 of those cases diagnosed in the last 14 days (7,986). The state has confirmed 779 deaths from the virus, and 2,315 hospitalizations.
