10 Things To Do In Birmingham On St. Patrick's Day
Saturday is Saint Patrick's Day, and there are plenty of options in Birmingham for ways to celebrate the holiday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Saint Patrick's day is Saturday, and people all over the world will celebrate the day dedicated to the patron saint of Ireland. In addition to being a religious celebration - the Feast Day of St. Patrick for Catholics - it is also a cultural celebration for the Irish. Regardless of why people celebrate the holiday, there is no shortage of outlets by which to celebrate in Birmingham this weekend.
Here are 10 of the numerous events in the Magic City during which people can celebrate the holiday:
34th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade; Five Points South (10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) - Parade will be lead by the Ian Sturrock Memorial Pipe Band. While getting into the Irish spirit, grab a great spot to watch the parade with the family or visit one of our many indoor music venues.

St. Paddy's Day Science; McWane Center (All Day) - Kids can learn about rainbows, gold, the science of magic and more.
Kegs & Eggs; Inisfree Pub, Lakeview (All Day) - Starts at 6 a.m. with a free breakfast, cornhole, St. Paddy’s swag, and bagpipers. This is a very laid back event with a lot of familiar faces from year to year.

St. Patrick's Day Blowout; Hickory Tavern, Brookwood Village (9 a.m. - close) - Hickory Tavern opens at 9 a.m. with Green Eggs and Ham, and a great $7 Breakfast menu! Follow that up with a bit of March Madness NCAA Basketball action, some corn hole and bar games, some great Irish Giveaways all day, and then finish your party off as Kat Delacruz plays live inside starting at 10 p.m.
St. Patrick’s Day Ceiliuradh; Brennan's Irish Pub, Five Points (10 a.m. - 1 a.m.) - Traditional Irish Food and drink specials all day. They are on the parade route so come early and watch the parade with a Pint. Brennan’s is kid friendly as true pubs should be until the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. Band Line up: Jasper Coal 2:30-5pm/Hooley 5:30-8:30pm/ISMPB/Jasper Coal finishing out the night.
St. Patrick's Day at the Food Hall; Pizitz Food Hall, Downtown (11 a.m. - 12 a.m.) - Stop by the Pizitz Food Hall starting at 11am for specials that will run until midnight. These specials will include Irish Drinks and Irish Cheese Boards. This will be a great stop to refuel in the middle of the day or to wind down that night.
St. Patrick’s Crawfish Boil; Avondale Brewing Co., Avondale (12 noon - 12 midnight) - Red Mountain Crawfish Company Birmingham will be serving up delicious crawfish and shrimp until they're sold out. Come dressed in your St. Patty's best.
Sham-ROCK: Beer, Bands, and Beer; Cahaba Brewing Co., Avondale (12 noon - 12 midnight) - Live music kicks off at noon. This is a kid friendly event. The Lineup includes Jason Grubbs & Beck Hall, Raquel Lily, Long Bony Arms. Food Trucks will include: Eugene's Hot Chicken, Tamale Queen/Snowies Shaved Ice, Slice Birmingham, and Fetch - A Treat Truck for Dogs will be onsite, too.
ShamRocked; Roots & Revelry, Downtown (1:30-11:30 p.m.) - As soon as you enter the venue and receive your wristband, you'll be given a ticket for a free shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey and a free Cahaba Brewing Irish Stout, as well as a ticket for an Irish Tasting plate provided by Roots & Revelry. The Music Line-Up: 1:30-3:30- Irish Music by Henry's Notions/3:30-5:30- Irish Music by the Vulcan Ejits/5:30-8:30- Jesse Payne/8:30-11:30- Nerves Baddington! The fun doesn't stop there-they will also be featuring a BUILD YOUR OWN IRISH COFFEE BAR sponsored by Revelator Coffee, 2 cash bars, an Irish themed photo booth with unlimited photos, an Irish Mule signature Cocktail benefitting the Cahaba Riverkeeper Organization, lots of swag, prizes for the most authentic Irish dress, the most ridiculous Irish dress, and the best Irish toast! .
Atomic Slim Blues Band on St. Paddy's; Champy's, Alabaster (7 p.m. - close) - Irish Blues performance by the Atomic Slim Blues Band! Champy's has a great food menu and this music will be great!
