2 Arrested In North Jefferson County Home Invasion: Sheriff
A man and woman have been arrested in connection to a home invasion Wednesday morning in North Jefferson County, officials said.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man and a woman have been arrested and charged with burglary, in connection with a home invasion Wednesday morning, according to officials. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. in the 1200 block of Sardis Road in northern Jefferson County.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the victim, an 85-year-old female, reported that a man broke into her home, demanded money and hit her in the head with a blunt object. When the victim saw an opportunity, she fled the home and got help, Money said.
Money said the sheriff's office's Star 1 helicopter and K-9 Deputies were deployed and were able to locate 24-year-old Brandon Gourley hiding in the woods near the victim's home. They also took 20-year-old Shelby Robinson into custody after she was found driving a pickup truck back and forth in the area, Money said.

An investigation revealed that Robinson assisted Gourley in the burglary and was trying to pick him up and flee the scene, the sheriff's office said.
Gourley was taken into custody and is being charged with burglary with a $10,000 bond. Robinson was also arrested and is being charged with burglary, with a $5,000 bond. Both are being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
