2 Suspects Arrested On Drug Charges
Two men were arrested near East Birmingham on multiple drug and firearms charges.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two men have been arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offenses. The arrests were made Sept. 24 near Irondale.
Just before noon Tuesday, Jefferson County deputies investigating drug activity and gang activity observed suspicious behavior in the 7300 block of Oporto Madrid Avenue. As deputies made contact with a group of men some of the men reportedly attempted to run.
Two men were captured and evidence near the men presented enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the location from which they ran. Deputies executed the search warrant and found the following:

- 8 grams of methamphetamine
- 87 Xanax pills
- 3 grams of cocaine
- 37 grams of Oxycodone
- 91 grams of marijuana
- 1 liter of Promethazine
- 4 grams of Heroin
- 1 Glock pistol
Shaquille Q. Calhoun, 26, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, trafficking in hydrocodone, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, attempting to elude a police officer, unlawfully carrying a pistol, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bonds total $284,100.
Steven Martez Rogers, 25, was also arrested and charged with attempting to elude a police officer, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bonds total $1,600.
