The Birmingham SWE chapter announced last week that UAB students Mikayla Tuma, a civil engineering junior from Trussville, Alabama, and Emma Kay Schmidt, a biomedical engineering junior from Temecula, California, have been selected to receive the Outstanding SWE Member Undergraduate Scholarships.

The scholarship was established in 2019 to support and recognize deserving undergraduate SWE members at ABET-accredited engineering programs in the state of Alabama who have demonstrated academic excellence and committed involvement in SWE and their community.
