2-Week COVID-19 Rise In Jefferson, Mobile, Montgomery Counties
Jefferson, Mobile and Montgomery counties each posted more than 450 new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days.
MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama has confirmed more than 18,000 cases of COVID-19, with much of that number coming in the last two weeks. In Jefferson, Mobile and Montgomery counties alone, more than 1,800 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in the last 14 days.
Jefferson County has reported 488 new cases of COVID-19 in the last two weeks alone, more than a quarter of the county's total cases since March, while Montgomery County has reported a whopping 833 cases of the virus over the last 14 days.
Total, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 18,075 cases of COVID-19, and reported 644 deaths. Over the last two weeks, the state has confirmed 5,824 cases of the virus.

Total new COVID-19 cases each day the last 5 days:
- May 27: 353 new cases
- May 28: 486 new cases
- May 29: 509 new cases
- May 30: 432 new cases
- May 31: 523 new cases
The counties with the most cases as of Monday afternoon:
- Mobile County: 2,243 cases, 500 in last 14 days
- Jefferson County: 1,852 cases, 488 in last 14 days
- Montgomery County: 1,732 cases, 833 in last 14 days
