20-Year-Old Shot And Killed Behind Birmingham Home
A shooting on Pineview Road in west Birmingham Monday claimed the life of 20-year-old Naqwaun Garner.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are investigating the city's 99th homicide of the year Monday, after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed just before 1:30 a.m. in west Birmingham.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the victim, Naqwaun Garner, was found unresponsive on the back porch of a home at 1340 Pineview Road.
Mauldin said the preliminary investigation indicates Garner was attempting to enter the back door of his residence when he was ambushed by the suspect. "The suspect possibly fled the location," Mauldin said. "There are no suspects in custody and detectives have not established a motive."

Of the 99 homicides in Birmingham this year, 13 were ruled justifiable one one was ruled accidental.
