22-Year-Old Man Dies In Jefferson County Shooting

A man was shot and killed inside his home in Dora Wednesday in what is reported to be a drive-by shooting.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 22-year-old man was shot and killed while inside his home in Jefferson County Wednesday. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 6500 Block of Snowville Brent Road in Dora.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the man was in his kitchen cooking, when, according to witnesses, multiple shots were fired and then a vehicle sped away from the scene.

The victim was struck by one of the bullets and reportedly woke other family members in the home, telling them he had been shot. The victim was transported to Walker Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
