28-Year-Old Dead After South Birmingham Shooting

Birmingham police are investigating a homicide in south Birmingham Friday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are investigating a Friday night homicide in south Birmingham. Jerrell Moultrie, 28, was found dead inside of his vehicle in the 4300 block of 12th Court North just after 9 p.m. Friday.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Birmingham Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner arrived and pronounced Moultrie deceased on the scene. Evidence at the scene prompted the investigators to classify the case as a homicide, Mauldin said.

No suspects are in custody.
