2nd Arrest Made In February Homicide In Birmingham
A second person has been arrested in connection with the slaying of Devonta Reddick in February.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A second person has been arrested in connection with the February 6 shooting death of Devonta Reddick. Reddick was shot and killed at a home at 1148 Dogwood Lane in Birmingham.
Another shooting victim was hospitalized and is recovering from those wounds.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said 28-year-old Cameron Dejuan Blanding of Birmingham was arrested Friday and charged with capital murder and attempted murder.

In August, Melvin Charles Morris, 41, of Montgomery was apprehended in Nashville by US Marshals and extradited back to Birmingham where he was charged with capital murder and attempted murder in the case. Morris is still in custody at Jefferson County Jail.
