3 Men Arrested With 11 Pounds Of Marijuana: Sheriff

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said three men were arrested after 11 pounds of marijuana and other drugs were in their possession.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Three men were arrested Friday after Jefferson County investigators found them in possession of marijuana, Xanax and other drugs during a traffic stop, sheriff's officials said. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies conducted the traffic stop on a white Nissan Titan on I-59 southbound near the I-20 interchange.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in the course of a probable cause search of the car, deputies found 11 pounds of marijuana stored in vacuum sealed bags.

Money said search warrants were obtained for a home in the 500 block of Elm Street in Birmingham where an additional 18.95 grams of marijuana, 16.01 grams of mushrooms, Ecstasy, Xanax and more than $3,400 in currency were found.

Miguel Recardo Samuels, Jr of Birmingham, Courtney Ladreko Mason of Oxford, Georgia, and Anthony Larvell Maddox of Lithonia, Georgia, were all arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail and charged with trafficking of marijuana.
