5 Month Old Child Found Unresponsive In Bathtub
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby found unresponsive in a bathtub near Tarrant.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 5-month-old child after the he was found unresponsive in a bathtub in a home near Tarrant Sunday. Early information from the scene is that the father of the child placed him in the bath tub and left the room.
Just before 8:30 Sunday evening, deputies responded to a medical emergency at residence in the 100 block of Hickory Grove Drive near Tarrant. It was reported that a five month old boy was not breathing. Paramedics arrived in scene and transported the child to an area hospital. The child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the boy as Dezmend Cotton.
